French Car News

A couple of interesting things coming out of two French car manufacturers PR machines currently.

Firstly Peugeot have confirmed they are killing off the GTi badge in their range to focus on "premium sports coupes". The 207 will be the last to bear the once hallowed GTi moniker.

Whilst this is a shame as the 205, 106 and 306 were all awesome cars, Pug have done a bit of a dis-service to the name and haven't offered much of a reprise to fans of since the 306 GTi-6. Maybe it is time to move on.

Meanwhile, up in Dieppe, Renault have revealed a brief comeback for Gordini.

Once upon a time Gordini went hand-in-hand with sporty Renaults and this welcome return is attached to the RenaultSport Twingo.

Expect an extra £1600 price tag for a gorgous blue with white Gordini stripes, white spoiler and other details which will follow into the cabin, complimenting quilted leather seats with matching door cards and dashboard cowling.
